The life of great riches has now become his greatest curse. The story of Detective Shabazz follows the troubled life of a mysterious private detective, Mister Shabazz, who comes from a wealthy family who own a rare type of gold called “Crails” that has been sought for centuries and targeted by high profile criminal organisations. With the family being forced into hiding for so long, the Shabazz family would embrace a lifestyle immersed in the shadows of the world.
Set in Swing City of the new County of Founderville in the UK, Shabazz operates as a shadow-dwelling, crime-fighting private detective for the local Mayor. In gifting the Mayor with the family’s ancestral “Queen Lunda” artefact, made of his family’s gold, it is soon stolen before it could be placed in the city’s museum by a new group of gangsters known as the “Purplesuits”, led by the ruthless and notoriously feared gang leader around, Deuces Goliath. Surrounding the grand theft, several mysterious murders and attempted thefts follow.
Discovering the Purplesuits work for the criminal entities that terrorised his family for their wealth for centuries, Detective Shabazz takes the ultimate risk by leaving his life in the shadows to embark on a mission to retrieve the artefact in hopes to expose and take down the criminal entities for their heinous crimes.
Meanwhile, Officer Saleema Rose, an officer for the Founderville Police Department (F.P.D) and a long-lost childhood friend of Shabazz’s, investigates the recent murders plaguing Swing City. In discovering the link with the stolen artefact, she crosses paths with Detective Shabazz and joins him to crack the case on the mysterious deaths surrounding the artefact. However, little does she know a friend of him is a foe of many as walking with a marked man will put a mark on her too.
A large sum for a reward goes out for anyone who can find the Lunda artefact, capturing the eager eyes of underground entertainer, James the Talent, who is overworked, underpaid and now desperate for funds. His back is against the wall and he will do just about anything to get it.
Four missions, one goal. All roads lead to Lunda. Who will come out on top? Or worse, who will come out alive?
